Sanandaj

Sanandaj or (Senneh) is in Kurdistan approximately 45 km from Bidjars.  Sanndaj and Bidjar carpets are in demand for their exceptional quality and outstanding pile. These carpets are generally very burly. Only the carpets and rugs from the designer Tajhavi and from the little village Halvai are flexible enough to be easily folded. The weavers often use the famous Herati motif; you can find these carpets in different qualities.  Since Sanndaj and Bidjars are highly sought-after and valuable, they are often copied by India. These copies are cheaper as they are produced in large quantities using a cheaper quality wool.
